Launch Date Scheduled

Journey is scheduled to be launched June 6th at 8:30 a.m.   Hopefully without incident as you recall the post of lifting her out of the water where she almost met her demise.   We postponed  the launch by 4 days because we want to be home to watch the Keewatin leave her Douglas port.  The Keewatin is an old Ferry, 300+ feet with a 48' beam, that was purchased in the 1970s by an individual in Douglas to be used as a bed & breakfast, convention/event center, etc. and most recently as a museum.   She has been sold and is moving to Canada.  Extensive dredging has taken place in Kalamazoo Lake to move her out.  We cannot remember a time that the Keewatin wasn't there.  It will be sad to see her go but to watch the process is intriguing.  A tug will maneuver her out of Kalamazoo Lake, wind her out the river into Lake Michigan.  She is headed to Detour Michigan until June 23rd when the Canadians will retrieve her and take her to her new home.
